I moved my website to a different dns. Same company but on a different location running laver versions of php and mysql. The move was scary (I thought I had backed everything up only to find it corrupted. I had to beg the webhost to let me download my site again before it was gone forever).
Reinstalling efiction was a bit of a pain. (Having to get the script to run on a later php was no fun). I broke things a few times, but now it looks like it's all back and working..
Okay there hasn't been a new story put here since 2009, but I will try and start writing again. I kind of have the bug again. Welcome back to my unbroken site. :)
Comments are still off because they get hacked too often.
I haven't written a fic in a while. Sorry about that. I want to start again.. but starting is tough.
So in the meantime enjoy this new skin called Stardust. It's a responsive layout, thus; if you are on a phone or tablet it adjusts to it without you having to go to my google cheat of a "mobile" site. I've added one more skin called oddly enough Responsive. It also auto adjusts depending on the device.
I still have reviews turned off because the last time I had it on, it was spammed to death. Rather than deleting hundreds of messages about viagara, porn, and prescription drugs, I figure I would leave this clutter free.
Five months and a new ficlet. It's pure fluff and sap and for many probably an oddball pairing. Wedding Day Blues is a Bleach fic. No bl in it but it's cute (or at least I hope so).
I guess this make my first story for 2009. It's a Gundam story, not Gundam Wing though.... It's Gundam 00. It's a two person character study called, Déjà-vu.
Wow the title is longer than the actual news item... *you get a cookie if you know what the line is from*
Anyway, since smartphones are all the rage (if you can manage to pay for it and the data service), I thought it would be nifty to have a Mobile version of this website. So in the menus you will see a "mobile" link. If you are on a Blackberry, or other smartphone type device that can search the web, you will get to see the pages in easy to read smaller screen readability. At least that is the theory.
It would have been cool to say I wrote the pages up myself, but I'm too lazy and Google has a converter, so why not use it.
I started writing this to help beta test someone's efiction site... and ended up with a drabble. A Torchwood drabble of all thing! It's short, and I hope you enjoy it anyway. It's called Life: Take 999.
Think of it as a Halloween story? Nah.
I know I've been having a writing drought at th emoment, but when Chichiri no da asked for writing suggestions, I asked for a Naruto fic featuring Sai because I was wanting some Sai love.
She pulled it off. Enjoy Into the Closet.
To start the year off right, I give you a Saiyuki PWP fic, called Dawn. Hope you enjoy it.
The recommendation module has been updated (along with the efiction script). It seems to keep whatever previous setting for warnings, and genre. I tried to edit one and it's repeating the info in a loop. So you may have to just ignore the warnings and read the summary bits instead.
I also put the EfictionNews as the default skin. Not really noticeable if you are a member who logs in. But as always you can use the pulldown menu and change it to a skin you like.
My contribution to an LJ community who decided to go "Anti" for April Fools is this cracked (and dare I say creepy) gem, I wrote called "What You See".
Check it out!
Recommendations are not quite working the way it should. It seems members or non-members can't seem to add to it. I've tried as a test member and got nowhere fast. I've put out an S.O.S. to the author of the module. And maybe it will get fixed.
In the meantime, enjoy the new skin called PlastikBlue. It's funky, isn't it?
You will also be able to look for them through the Browse link. Or if you click on BROWSE->RECOMMENDATION from there you can click the Add a Rec link and start from there.
With the conversion over to eFiction 3.0, I'm turning the anonymous reviews back on. With the new software update, one must type in the security code before posting if they are not logged in. That should cut down on spamming.
I've also put 'Ode' back on the list of skins one can use because I think I've successfully converted the skin to 3.0 standards... I think. At least it looks like it did it correctly.
The "Surprise Me" skin if you choose it what happens is every time you click on a link, it will change the skin for you. It's nice to play with but if you get tired of it just go into Account Info, Edit Preferences, change the skin, click Submit.
I've upgraded my website to eFiction 3.0. It has a few bugs in it like... not showing all the members. You're still here as a member it's just not showing up in the list. And I still have some tweaking to do that I'll probably get done with tonight maybe.
I'll promise to add some stories here soon.
Seems there is a bot trying to spam this poor little website. While I'm sure most of you would love to go to gays-masturbating websites, I really don't want my reviews to be full of this crap.
While I'm sure it was a bot rather than a loser with too much time on their hands, from now on, I'm afraid that reviews of stories must be from registered users. There always has to be one eh?
Since I received an email asking, I figure I would just remind the general populace once again that this website is a closed archive.
That means no open submissions. You can register if you like but if you aren't the few people who I asked permission to upload a fic, you will not be able to post a story. You're welcome to leave reviews. You may have noticed the few people that are the exception here only have one or two stories of their stories here and not their complete archives.
While I'm an archivist for GWA, I should point out I would never want to undertake such a thing on my own. It's time consuming and too much of a responsibility. And I'm not looking to be the next FF.net or AFF.net.
Thank you for your time. And thanks for reading.
The patch has been fixed... that's the good news. The not so great news is the formatting on the 'feeling blue' layout is a little weird. (Workable but weird).
For the moment I'll just set the default layout back to Zenlike.
I've just uploaded the latest efiction patch and now all the stories are looking like crap... Let me see what I can do about it... in the meantime be patient. I'm sure it's a very quick fix somewhere for this.
For the moment I rolled back to the previous patch. So things shouldn't look too weird for now.
